Meru Cabs Launches Windows Phone App
Meru Cabs is a cab service based out of India and operating in cities like Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi, Hyderabad, Jaipur and Ahmedabad. The company has now released their official Windows Phone app. Meru is best known for high quality services to its passengers enabled through technologies like GPS, GPRS based tracking and dispatch, speed alarm, trip tracker facility, e-bill, etc. This app is also a step towards enhancing the passenger experience by enabling a cab booking within a minute.
As soon as you launch the app, you can use the existing Meru account or signup for a new. This is convenient for users who use the service often and have their regular address setup in their online account.
The app has been designed well with features like Swipe to choose dates, dial the clock to set time, tap on anywhere on the map to select pickup location. After you are signed in, the home screen shows two options for quick booking. The first is if you want to immediately book the cab ( time frame 35 minutes) or later which could be beyond 35 minutes or up to 3 days.
Features of the App:
- The app brings the same booking interface which is used online. You can select your pickup and drop address and nearest locations are picked up using user’s current location.
- Near By Feature helps you pickup a location which is near your previous bookings making it easy for them to identify.
- Real Time CAB tracking after booking is assigned. Useful if you want to keep an eye where your ride is instead of calling them all the time.
- The app can show the real-time stats for your travel. The stats include real-time route information on map with estimated time of arrival to destination.
- An e-receipt is available on your phone at the end of the journey.
- The app also lets you access your previous bookings which includes fare details and location
- For Meru Plus users which provides guaranteed journey time for a location, the option is available via the app.
- By default Meru Service sends out SMS but in case you miss that for some reason, the app uses push notifications for various alerts like booking confirmation, cab & chauffeur details, rating, etc.
- The app can be used to reach out your relative or family members by using the ICE (In Case of Emergency), which can be used even when user has not booked a Meru cab or travelling in Meru. Once the user saves the number of a family member or a friend, this feature can be used to trigger an emergency buzzer on family member’s phones in case of emergency situations. They will also receive an SMS with location details of the user and see the location of user on the map.
