Microsoft Garage Launches Set of New Windows Phone Apps & Games

Microsoft Garage, if that doesn’t sound familiar, then take this as a program where Microsoft employees develop something internally but as their personal project. This later gets released into public after following the regular testings.

Today, Microsoft’s Fire Hose shared a lot of projects officially released for Windows Phone. There are bunch of apps and games which you can download and use it on your phone. If you find an issue, pass it on as feedback.

Tetra Lockscreen

This app turns your lock screen into fast, fluid screen with lot of interactions. Its more about visualising a notification, than just looking at it. So such as, it shows your current location and then display nearby calendar events. You can even pan and zoom.

There are widgets for the lock screen similar to this. You have Agenda, Location, Activity tracker, stopwatch and so on. Activity tracker uses sensor core API, so it will work on devices like the Lumia 625, 1520, 830 and so on.

AutoTag ‘n Search My Photos

This app is for Windows 8, which brings Facebook Tagging to your PC and personal photo collection. It first connects with your Facebook account, figure out your friends and comes back to tag your media. It also works with Windows Phone photos, if you have it connected to OneDrive.

Features:

  • Automatically learns faces of strong connections in your Facebook graph.
  • Provides a person centric view of all your photos including your local, OneDrive, and Facebook photos.
  • Creates a uniquely managed identity for friends who are not on Facebook so that with some initial tagging, the app learns a face model and later automatically tags such “UserCreated” friends.
  • Allows selective uploading of tagged photo(s) to Facebook.
  • Provides unidentified photos view clustering faces with similar features for easy tagging.
  • Allows existing tags generated by other apps to be leveraged by merging them with tags managed by AutoTag ‘n Search My Photos.
  • Gets more accurate as you interact with the app and fix mistags or confirm Autotags.
