Microsoft is working on new Windows 10 set up experience powered by Cortana

Microsoft is working on a whole new set up experience of Windows 10 which will be powered by Cortana. Powered by Cortana means that the new set up experience will work with voice commands, such as- you can just say “Next” instead of clicking on it, this will not just save time but also be very helpful for people who can’t see or can’t type.

The latest internal builds of Windows 10 will have a new out of box experience that by default will be listening to you and will be awaiting voice commands. With this, Microsoft has taken another step towards making Cortana more powerful. With its goal to have Cortana everywhere, this is a right move, as the devices without a screen would require voice commands if you have to set them up.

Microsoft is also working on improving UI for devices having screens. However, the company might give you an option of turning voice activation on and off, changing volumes and more. As WC reports, these improvements might not show up in the next Insider build, but may come with the Creators Update.

Microsoft giving users the option to choose how they want to set their PC up is quiet nice. Some of us might not be comfortable using Cortana to set their PC up, and hence they have provided us the option of turning it off. As we believe this feature will be for devices without a screen.

This new feature will be very useful if we get to see some smart devices powered by Cortana. With rumors suggesting that Microsoft is working on a device like Amazon Echo, which will run Windows 10 and will be powered by Cortana, this new feature addition to Windows 10 is perfectly justified. Let’s just hope Microsoft does something exciting with this new feature.
