Video: Microsoft Remote Desktop App for Windows Phone 8.1

Last year, Microsoft had released the remote desktop app for Android and iOS users, and there was no mention of the app available for Windows Phone users. With the release of Windows Phone 8.1, Microsoft has released this app to the store. With the Microsoft Remote Desktop app, you can connect to a remote PC and experience the power of Windows with RemoteFX in a Remote Desktop client designed to help you get your work done wherever you are.

Once installed, you will need to add your PC with precisely the same name as you see on your computer, along with username and credentials. The app supports domains, which means for Windows 8.1 PC, you can use your Microsoft account to connect. The app can remember the user credentials and allows you to use them for a new remote desktop connection.

The app has a keyboard on top, which gives you access to a full keyboard along with Start Button and other keys like ALT, CTRL, etc. The zoom option brings in a tiny mouse to help you navigate. You will have to get used to it.

While configuring the account, you can bring audio to the phone or leave it on PC. I streamed a movie, and it just worked fine.
