Microsoft Reportedly bringing Cortana experience for Outlook on Android & iOS

Microsoft has a strong presence on Android & iPhone, and now the company is planning to extend it even further by introducing Cortana experience for Outlook on Android & iOS. Microsft’s digital assistant can be used natively over Google Assistant already through their launcher, and now its time to take over the Apps.

While Microsoft cannot do it for Google Apps, it can definitely do it for its in-house apps like Outlook.  The Verge is reporting that Cortana integration with Outlook will allow users to read emails, read an email from a particular contact, and in future might be able to send emails right on the go.

Outlook mobile that will work over Bluetooth and read messages aloud. Users will be able to ask Cortana phrases like “what’s my email,” or just to read messages from specific contacts.

Microsoft is currently testing its Cortana integration internally, and if the feedback is positive then the feature should make its way to beta and public releases of Outlook for iOS and Android.

This happened rather quickly after Javier Soltero, who previously headed Microsoft’s Outlook, and recently joined Cortana team. It totally makes sense now, and we should see more integration between Android Phones, and Cortana.
