Microsoft Rolls Out it’s Face Detection API Enabled App “How-Old” for Windows Phone
A couple of days back, Microsoft showcased its face detection technology through How-Old.net. The idea is pretty simple. It takes a picture of your face and predicts how old you are. The website did catch a lot of attention as it hit and missed millions who tried it. Now, the Redmond-based company has rolled out a Windows Phone app that uses the phone’s front or the rear camera to take a picture and then guess your age. You can also use a picture from your camera roll.

As I went to the app listing, I was surprised that most of the comments are in Chinese when taken a look at the publisher. It is Microsoft Online which is a Chinese Subsidiary of the Microsoft division in China.
Remember, the API uses many data like your beard, how you make your face, and other inputs to guess your age. So if it tells your age a little more than expected, blame that. The best way to get it more accurate is to show your expressionless face and all shaved up!
