Microsoft to share more details about Windows Mixed Reality in an Event on October 3

At IFA Microsoft announced a lot of things around Mixed Reality that’s coming with Windows 10 Creators Fall Update. While they did announce the list of OEMs coming up with their headsets, their price, and availability along with details of two types of Mixed Reality with PC specifications, they have no details on how exactly MR will work, and what kind of apps will be available.

Till then all we have seen is Games being demoed at IFA but nothing more than that. That said,  Microsoft is now holding an event particularly for Mixed Reality on October 3. The event is taking place in San Francisco. We are expecting Microsoft to give more details about its platform, apps coming for Mixed Reality. The event will be hosted by Alex Kipman.

At IFA,  Microsoft announced Headsets from Dell, Lenovo, and Acer,

  • Acer Mixed Reality Headset will cost  $299,
  • HP  Mixed Reality Headset will cost $449 along with controllers.
  • While  Dell & Lenovo will cost you $349.

This is what I wrote in my last post:

Here is a piece of advice from my side. Do not over expect from Mixed Reality right now. While the platform is ready, we need to see if the big apps and games make their way into the store. Hardware alone is not enough, and if you think you want to make a smart decision, I will suggest you hold for a couple of months to see how the final pieces come together.

I would love to see it get wronged.
