Microsoft sold only 5.8M Lumia Last Quarter
Microsoft has announced the results for the quarter ended September 30, 2015 and in the Windows Phone segment, the company sold just 5.8M devices in the last quarter. Although Microsoft hasn’t revealed the numbers official, according to Windows Central report, there is a drop of revenue from Windows Phone and that comes to 54% which means it the last quarter the company sold almost 5.8M devices compared to 9.3M in the quarter a year before it.
The sales figures for Windows Phone hasn’t been surprising since the company is working on Windows 10 Mobile and hasn’t released any major device in the past few months.

The last flagship device released was Lumia 930 which came more than a year back. Over the past year, the company has been focusing on too many budget and affordable handsets, but in markets like India, Android devices have become cheaper than Windows Phone and also come with better hardware. This has also slowed down the sales of Windows Phone in India.
While this is not great signs for the company in phone segment, the promising aspect is the launch of Lumia 950 and Lumia 950XL both running Windows 10 Mobile. The initial impressions of the device has been positive and the Continuum feature will be the most sought after feature when the devices go on sale in November.
