Microsoft Brings Tap to Pay Feature for Windows 10 Mobile with Wallet 2.0

Microsoft announced Wallet 2.0, a completely redesigned Wallet app for Windows 10 Mobiles with tap to pay support. Apple had this for a while now as Apple Pay, Google just launched Android Pay, and now Microsoft also joins the other two giants with the Wallet app. However, as we know, it wasn’t a secret that Microsoft was working on a new Wallet app for Windows 10 Mobiles. We knew they were doing something good, and they have actually done it. The new Wallet app is now available in the U.S for Lumia 950XL, 950, and 650, for insiders on Fast Ring, in other words, for folks who are on Redstone.

Today, we are excited to introduce tap to pay with Microsoft Wallet to Windows Insiders (build 14360 or higher) in response to feedback from our customers and through the help of our partnerships with MasterCard and Visa. Microsoft Wallet is a cloud-based payment technology that will make mobile payments simple and more secure for Windows 10 Mobile devices, starting in the U.S. with our Lumia 950, 950 XL, and 650, and usable in over a million retail locations; anywhere you see the contactless payment symbol or the Microsoft Wallet logo at the point of sale.

Features:

Keep your cards and passes in one place. With Wallet, you have your cards when and where you need them.
Boarding passes – Show and scan your boarding pass at the airport or bus station.
Event tickets – Show and scan tickets to concerts, sporting events, and more.

Loyalty cards – Show and scan your loyalty cards at the supermarket or your favorite restaurant.
Membership cards – Check out books at the library, check-in at the gym, etc.
Coupons – Keep track of your coupons in one location.
