MixRadio is Dead; LINE Pulls the Plug
MixRadio, a music streaming service with exclusive offline feature, which did not require any subscription is closing down. Previously called as Nokia Music which spun out post Nokia acquisition, and later acquired by Line.

I feel sad. It’s one of the services which I use it on daily basis, specially for its Offline feature, but then you cannot run business with your heart in it. You need to make money, and even Line has failed to monetize it. In it’s official announcement Line states:
After a careful assessment of the subsidiary’s overall performance, the financial challenges posed by the music streaming market, and priorities of LINE Corporation, LINE has determined that future growth would be difficult to ensure and decided to discontinue the MixRadio music streaming service.
The company has decided to blend music and communication via its LINE MUSIC service, which is currently available in Japan and Thailand.
What really surprises me is that MixRadio recently made their way into Android & iOS platform. They even were preloaded in Samsung devices, and then sudden death. Now, you should see the apps being pulled off from everywhere.
I have no words to express how bad it feels, specially when I had been in touch with the Team since 3+ years, and met them at MWC every time. We wish every MixRadio team member good luck for future, and thanks for the amazing service.
