File explorer is everybody’s favorite thing. This is one feature which came really late to Windows Phone with the Files app, which is pretty good for doing almost everything. However, Microsoft may replace it with another app which is called as, the obvious name, File Explorer.

This app comes with three sections which you can access through the hamburger menu on top left–Recent, This Device, MicroSD–which gives you straight forward access to files and folders. This is much better then digging deep down by endless taps. The recent option is something everybody will like if you need to access same files over and over.

Features:

Gives you access to all folders & you can view properties ( size, file count, etc.) for each of them using the menu.

Folder get regular operations like Move, Copy, Paste, Delete and so on. However the core folders like Documents, Downloads don’t have these option for obvious reasons.
You can Sort by name, size, date in ascending and descending orders.
You can select videos and pictures together using this app which comes in handy for mass deletion.

List view and Thumbnail view.
It uses the breadcrumb menus which makes it easier to navigate back and forth.
You can also manage your recent files i.e. delete and rearrange.
