Mouse Computer has been supporting Microsoft’s Windows Phone Operating System for a long time now. Their first Windows Phone was MADOSMA, which was a mid-range device running Windows Phone 8.1. At MWC 2016, they are back in the Windows game, but with a Bang! They have showcased their new mid-range phone, which is a 6″ phablet and runs on Windows 10 Mobile OS. The device is called MADOSMA Q601 and it’s a mid-range phone focused for Japan. It looks premium even after being a mid-range device, thanks to it’s beautiful edges.

Madosma Q601

The device features a 6″ 1080p screen, a Snapdragon 617 processer, and 3 GB RAM. The device features a luxury 2.5D machined edge and is only 7.9 mm thick, which gives it a premium look. It has 13 MP back and 5 MP front camera. The device is high-end of mid-range category. It’s like the One Plus of Windows Phones. It also supports Continuum. The device is however said to not support Windows Hello, which is really disappointing, but considering the price segment it is in, it’s totally justified. The deice will be a tough competitor for Microsoft’s own Lumia 650, which is also a mid-range phone. But MADOSMA Q601 has better specifications compared to Lumia 650.

PRICING AND AVAILABILITY:

Mouse Computers haven’t said anything about the pricing and availability but we expect it to cost around 25k Yen and to be available by last week of March. However, we think it will be competing with Microsoft’s latest Lumia phone, Lumia 650. After seeing the sales of Lumia phones in Japan, it’s good to have phones like MADOSMA Q601.
