Move Contacts, Calendars, Pictures, Songs and Videos from Android and iOS to Lumia
Nokia’s Lumia based phones have definitely created a hype, but couldn’t really get the start in sales. But with new Windows Phone 8devices coming soon, this might change. Now if you are using an Android, iOS or a BlackBerry phone, you can now easily move your contacts, calendars, pictures, songs and videos to Lumia. Markspace has released a new free app, Welcome Home for Windows Phone which help new Lumia owners migrate to their new phone.

Probably the best feature of this app is that it will scan your current phone for all installed app and then provide you with QR codes for the recommended apps for your Windows Phone. You need to connect your phone using the USB cable. In case you are migrating from iPhone, you need to make sure that iTunes is running and synced with the device.

In the next step, you can select the items to scan and transfer which includes apps, contacts, calendar, music, photos and videos.

Once the scanning is complete, the app shows the recommended apps available in Windows Phone marketplace.

In the final step, you need to sign in with your Live ID, the ID you are using on your phone and then copy the files. The data will be copied on to your computer.

Now connect the Lumia Windows phone and open Zune. The final step involves transferring these files to Lumia using the Sync.
The app is really awesome for someone who wants to migrate to a new Lumia device without having to lose any files or apps. Although it is designed for Lumia it might support other Windows Phones as well.
