Homebrew MPAtool gets major update, Rolls in Background Auto Download and UI Changes

MPA Tool Home ScreenMPA Tool is a homebrew tool for unlocked Windows Phone which lets you add missing album pictures to all your music files on Windows Phone.  We did a review at the time when it was launched, but today we see it has some major update rolled  in the first beta version 2.0.

Feature Updates

Instead of getting list of all the songs and albums as soon as you launch the app, you now get a screen with options of

  • Manual Search : This allows you pickup an album using the alphabet sorter and then attach an image to it.
  • Auto Download : When you hit this, it starts downloading pictures for all the albums on your phone. The advantage here is you get to see multiple images, count etc. Just hit the download button and it will get them all.
  • Delete Pictures :  Lets you remove old pictures and prepare for new attachments.

Apart from these you have an option to download XAP file directly which is handy if you have the XAP handler.  Notification of new update, attachment process completed and the usual Quality Control of the pictures you download.
