New Email App on Windows 10 Technical Preview for Phones

Microsoft has released the second major update for Windows 10 Technical preview for phones and it comes with few new apps, basically the redesigned apps for email, messaging, contacts and more. We already covered the new messaging app which comes with new interface and options. Similarly another app which has gone in for a complete overhaul is the email app. The default email app is called Outlook mail and comes with refreshed UI.

When you first open the app, you will be greeted with a welcome screen and your email account will be automatically selected from the phone. You can also add an account from here or use the options as shown below.  The email interface comes in while background with the blue header which is typical outlook.

When you open a particular email, you get all the tools like reply, flag, delete and more. If you click the icon on the top left corner, you get the folders in your email account which includes drafts, sent items and more.

The new email option is available on the top corner and once you select this you get a new compose window. Here you can see the new formatting options which has lots of tools to offer including fonts, styles, paragraphs, highlighting, font color, numbering, bullets and more.

So you get lot of options which is available in the desktop version of the email app.

Overall, we feel Microsoft has done some good work with Outlook mail app on Windows Phone and it definitely looks good. But there is still room for improvement and lot of fine tuning required in the UI as this is just a work in progress.
