Nokia 105 Priced at Rs 1249 in India, Sale announced

Nokia has just announced the pricing & availability of Nokia 105, an entry level phone, in India. The price is set at 1249 which is very cheap but availability when checked in India wasn’t accurate. I went to couple of Nokia stores around my area but none of them had it. I guess all they mean is it is available for sale in India.

This phone was announced in MWC 2013 at Barcelona and is best suited for rural India because of the packaging the phone comes in. The keyboard is made using one piece of fibre which reduces the chance of dust getting inside. As a matter of fact the body is designed such that it will keep off the dust and water off your phone. Also, the phone follows the same design pattern as the high end Nokia Lumia Phones.

Here are some interesting features of Nokia 105:

• A colour phone. You cannot get a colour phone at this price anywhere on earth.
• FB radio is inbuilt in the phone to keep you busy when on a long trip.
• 35 days of standby i.e. you can keep your phone unused for 35 days and it will still be alive when you want to use it.
• It only weighs 70gm
• Comes with a torch. Probably the most wanted feature in India and can be turned on easily by pressing the menu button three times in upward direction. Handy when it’s dark.
• Nokia Life, SMS-service provided by Nokia, is preloaded and it helps people with education, healthcare and can also help people learn a new language.
• High Built quality to make sure your phone doesn’t give up on you when you accidentally drop it.
• Pre-loaded games like Snakes, Sudoku
• Preloaded Apps: Digital clock, Calculator, Clock, Calendar, Phonebook, Converter, Speaking clock, Expense manager, Alarm clock

Note that this phone does not support 3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, NFC which is majorly required by smartphones for data. Read more on specifications here.

I hope that the device will be available soon in the market and there will be definitely a huge demand for it. Even though it is not a smartphone, this is a good phone to have if you want a device with good …features, and be able to simply use it as a phone.
