Nokia Asha 210 : Design of Lumia, Power of Whatsapp
When Nokia announced Nokia 105 and 301, it was very clear that they are rolling out Lumia design pattern to all their upcoming phone. The announcement of Nokia Asha 210 has proved it again. The backside, curves on the corners and the four colours make it align with Lumia and the feature phone series.
Apart from the design factors there are three distinct feature of this phone.
- It’s a QWERTY Phone
- It has a dedicated Whatsapp Button.
- Dual SIM
Since couple of months I have met lot of people and it was interesting to know that 80% of their communication runs around Whatsapp. Sending Documents, Messaging, sharing Images with co-workers are some major use. Some even said they look for a phone which makes sure that whatsapp performance is top-notch.
Now when I look at Asha 210, I understand what Nokia did here. This phone is definitely targeted towards consumers or even small business who type a lot on whatsapp. If you ever had a chance to use BlackBerry you know how useful is QWERTY based keyboards are on any phone. Since Whatsapp is free for lifetime in this phone and integrated in messaging hub, I can see lot of people interested to pick this phone.

If you have studied or known Indian consumers, a lot of people here look for phone which can support two SIM card. This essentially helps them not to invest in two phone and keep managing then. This phone supports that too.
Last not the least, the phone has Wi-Fi which makes sure that you can connect to Internet at Office or Home or a café and do things other than Whatsapp.
The phone sports a 2.4-inch QVGA (320×240) display, 2MP camera and SD support with 64MB internal storage. This means you can listen to a lot of music on this phone. The phone is supposed to be priced at USD 72 and will be available in retail in the second quarter of 2013.
