Nokia’s Buy Back Program for Windows Phone; But is it really worth? (India Only)
Nokia has launched a Buy Back program, in India, if you are willing to switch to Windows Phone which in simple words mean you can exchange your existing handsets with a Lumia 520 or Lumia 620 and get a discount. How much is the discount ? This is where it gets interesting — there is a minimum Rs 4000 discount if you choose Lumia 520 (Read Review) and Rs 6000 if you buy a Lumia 620 (Read Review).
List of Handset you can exchange for Lumia 520 and 620 :

That said now there are very simple terms and condition bound with this program where you need to prove your ownership of the device either with a bill or signing up a document along with your photo id proof. The latter is useful if you have lost the original bill.
Are the Offers Worth ?
India has a huge second-hand market for mobile handset. I have sold many mobile personally on sites like Quickr and getting 70 to 80% of the device’ original value is not tough if you are patient enough. Of course you need to have the device in good condition to get that price.
In the deal that Nokia has rolled out, your mobile price is actually evaluated depending on what condition your mobile is in, if you have the original bill of the device and so on.
So it is quite possible that for some old mobiles which aren’t getting good deal in the second-hand market, Nokia’s offer might turn out to be better. I will take a look around the Nokia stores tomorrow and figure out what they are offering. How much are things worth and sneak info on how is the exchange program going on.
