Nokia is missing a great opportunity as Lumia 620 availability delays in India
Its been a more than a month when Nokia Lumia 920, 820 and 620 was announced officially. Though 920 and 820 were lucky to make their way to consumers, sadly the demanded version of Lumia series, the 620 is still delayed and with no dates on hand, just rumours. It was supposed to launch by Feb Mid.
We happened to hold the 620 and try it out for a while at the launch. The overall impression was good even though the model was only a prototype.
Low End Phone Market in India
I remember when Lumia 610 and 510 were announced, and how well they sold, specially Nokia Lumia 510. The awesome low-end phone with 4 inch screen. I made a comparison video between two and there were hundreds of comments that poured in.
I have friends and followers who been looking forward for it. They are either buying a 820 or just switching to other phones like Micromax recently released Canvas Phone. Those are not aware, this Micromax model has sold out, being sold in high prices at many places of India.
Thinking a bit harder, Indian Market is filled in with cheap android devices. Specially the 1o to 12K range market. I have friends who are just regular user complaining about Android but use it because of less available choices.
This all clearly shows that low-end phone market is very very strong in India. This is the reason even new players but with determined motives are doing good.
Why is Nokia Missing this Opportunity ?
I am huge fan of Nokia. Their Lumia Phones, Technology( just love the OIS & low light quality image ability), their effort to make Windows Phone a lot better with usable and awesome apps can impress anybody.
As a matter of fact I believe that if Nokia would not have been there in the Windows Phone Ecosystem, Windows Phone would have struggled heavily. None of the other OEM’s have taken so much effort like Nokia.
So Why are they missing this opportunity ? Why there is a delay in launch of Lumia 620 in India ? Why are they repeating the same mistake as they did for 920 and 820.
So when is Lumia 620 launching (PROBABLY) ?
As reported by IBN, Seems like Lumia 620 will be launched in First week of March. I have no idea if they will be but this of for sure that it’s not coming this February as MWC will keep Nokia busy big time. There are even Rumors that Nokia might launch three more phone, on which is terms as EOS or the PureView Clone.
Conclusion:
I would love to see Nokia taking more effort in getting devices faster in India, specially the low-end phones. I am sure the experts have all the calculations but they have certainly missed the opportunity of launching the phone on time. This opportunity is cashed by the competitors.
