Nokia Lumia 625 Price and Availbility in India

Nokia has just released two new Lumia phones in India, the high-end Lumia 925 which was launched back in May and the newly announced mid range phone, the Lumia 625. Nokia is doing great when it comes low end Windows Phone and 625 is another step towards it.

Nokia Lumia 625 Announcement:

First announced in July and it is now released in India. Lumia 625 follows the same design of Lumia series with poly carbonate material used for construction. One of the standout feature of Lumia 625 is the screen. It features the largest screen on any Lumia phone as of now. Lumia 625 comes with a 4.7 inch WVGA (800 X 480 pixels) and 201ppi with Sunlight Readability Enhancement, High Brightness Mode, Color Enhancement and Super Sensitive Touch for use with gloves.

The official pricing of Lumia 625 is Rs 19999 which we feel is over priced considering the competition. The ideal price of Lumia 625 should have been in the 15k –16k range.

Nokia had a major success with Lumia 520 and 620 because of price factor which is under 15K. Now with Lumia 625 which is a big screen device is priced at a higher price compared to Lumia 720 which is not selling at 19K (down 3K from the MRP), We really wonder how Nokia plans to sell Lumia 625. A person looking for a big screen wont drop a similar phone with an excellent camera because rest of the things are absolutely same when it comes to comparison.

Lumia 625 pricing is terrible as of now and if Nokia really wants to succeed with it, they need to lower down the pricing to around 15K at least. Nokia is doing great in the lower segment and I am sure they don’t want to miss any opportunity here.

Lumia 925 Announcement:

The Lumia 925 is almost similar in specifications to Lumia 920 which was announced last year, but comes with a different design and usage of materials. Lumia 925 features an aluminum body which makes it lighter than Lumia 920.

Apart from this Lumia 925 also features the 1.5Ghz dual core processor, 1GB RAM and instead of 32GB storage on Lumia 920, this one comes with 16GB space. Nokia has slimmed down its Lumia flagship to just 8.5mm and a weight of 139 grams.
