Nokia Music+ for Windows 8

Nokia Music is one of the best reasons to pick a Nokia branded Lumia WP8 phone. Nokia had also announced that a new premium service branded Nokia Music+ was coming with a small subscription fee and this is being rolled out to different regions. But now have info on Nokia Music + service coming to Windows 8 tablets as well. At the MWC 2013, Nokia demoed the Nokia Music+ service running on a Windows RT tablet.

Here are some screenshots of the app in action. As you can see from the images, it completely uses the metro UI and its features.

From the home screen you can view the latest songs, mixes available and this will be according to the region. When you select a particular mix, you can make it available offline. You can also create a new mix like in WP8 app.

As you can see from this screenshot below, lyrics are available for the selected or playing song, which is again an added feature.

There is also option to pick music from your Music folder in Windows RT. If it contains songs, they are automatically added to My Music section of the app.

You can also select mixes in various categories.

Similar to Nokia Music in Windows Phone, the background is populated with the artist cover image.

Like the WP service, you can add only 4 mixes for offline in the free version, if you get the Music+ package, you can add more mixes as offline.

Another great feature of the app is that it uses the Windows 8 feature of snapping apps. You can snap the Nokia Music app and work with other apps in the foreground while the music is being played.

Nokia Music is also offering a free trial of Music+ service and this can be accessed from the app.

Apart from this Nokia is also opened the Nokia Music API and you can develop app using this API. We already have apps like Music Scene and Mix NFC writer using the Nokia Music API.

Unlimited Offline mixes
High quality Audio (192 kbps)
Listen anywhere- tablets, smartphones, Mac, PC.

As of now we don’t have any info on the availability of this app for Windows RT users.
