Nokia Lumia version 1308 update for 920, 820, 620

If I am not wrong this is the first official announcement from Nokia on the exact version number of update it is rolling out currently. Nokia Developer blog said this version will bring in a lot of improvements (I hope that includes the Storage Checker) to the operating system.

The update includes performance and stability improvements. To be specific, it will bring stability to the display which changes during a call. In case you feel there is an issue when you are on call and switch to the screen to input, this should fix it. Also, automatic display & brightness adjustments have some improvements.

I have felt this last issue since the portico update where Lumia 920 changes the brightness and its annoying. As an example I have seen the screen taking time to switch from high brightness to low lightness in bright light.

Apart from this, Lumia 620 users will get another update (version 1030.6407.1308.00xx) to improve touch behaviour, system stability, improvement in camera picture quality and corrected camera exposure. This is when the flash is used in bright light conditions.

Since the update is rolling out region-by-region, you will not get the update instantly. Expect to get a notification as soon as the update hits your /country/region.

This is in fact a great news for all Nokia Lumia Windows Phone users. Nokia is not only keeping hopes high with exclusive Lumia apps but also making sure it constantly updates the devices to bring new features and improvements.

Truly, if WP8/WP7 were launched earlier when it really mattered, Nokia would have remained the superpower it once was. It isn’t doing any stupidity like Sony or HTC and is actually making good devices and providing proper support.

That’s one reason I had always suggested to buy a Nokia Windows Phone to any user who wants to switch to a new experience.
