Nokia X, X+ and XL Android Phones Official

After days and months of rumours on the so called Android phone from Nokia, it has been officially launched by Nokia at the MWC 2014 here in Barcelona. The Nokia X, X+ and XL are the three phones announced by Nokia at MWC 2013. It is the first Android phone from Nokia, but unlike the regular Android phones, there are quite a lot of differences between them and Nokia X series.

Lets have a look at the X series of phones announced by Nokia. First up is the entry level Nokia X which sports a 4 inch WVGA display which has a resolution of 480 X 800 pixels and runs on a Snapdragon (1GHz x2) processor with 512MB RAM and 4GB internal storage. The Nokia X does not come with expandable storage and this is where Nokia X+ comes in. The device has support for microSD card and can be expanded to 64GB.  The phone also comes with a 5MP camera and a 1500mAh battery. Nokia X+ also has 768MB RAM.

From the specs it is clear that the device is an entry level Android phone and comes in the price range of Lumia 520 and the Asha 503. And coming on to the Android experience, there won’t be the regular Play Store experience from Google, instead it will run Nokia Store which will have Android based apps and also you can install apps from third party stores. You can side loads app on the device, which means you would probably be able to install Android apps on the device.

Nokia XL is another Android based phone which has a bigger screen and comes with 5 inch WVGA display and comes with a 5MP rear camera with LED flash and auto focus. There will also be a 2MP front camera for video calls. The device will run on Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor with 768MB RAM and 4GB internal storage. You can also expand via microSD card. Nokia XL has 2000mAh battery.

The Nokia X is the entry-level model in the family, will cost €89, and is available immediately. Nokia X+ is priced at €99 and will be available in early Q2 2014. Finally, the Nokia XL will be priced at €109 and be available in early Q2 2014.
