NumNet : Love Adding Numbers ? Try this Windows Phone Game
Number lovers would just love to do anything with numbers and sudoku is one of the biggest example where it takes the ultimate test but today we are asking you to take a different challenge which is both fun and has a good amount of brain teaser.
Numnet for Windows Phone is based on addition of numbers. So you get set of numbers which is the answer and you need to select numbers from the 4 X 4 board filled with numbers. You need to swipe around the numbers of the square board such that they add together to form one of the numbers which you need to achieve.
The real challenge here is that there is no rule how you going to choose the number. It can be One after the other, diagonal, or any shape which your thumb can draw around.
Each Game is played along with random users with time set for 1 minute to complete 14 numbers.
How to Play Numnet ?
We thought of asking the game makers itself on details of how the game is exactly played and what rules are used to rank high or low. So here is the detail :
NumNet is a social number tournament game — where you are competing with people on the internet to be the best number searcher in every game. Every player is competing on the same board, in real time, to get the highest score.
Object :
Be the player that finishes with the highest score in a 1:30 Minutes game of number search by finding the sum of as many numbers as you can with the longest path. Find the Numbers displayed in the Find section to earn points:
Score points by finding the numbers on a 4×4 board of numbers, the longer the number path the higher the score. Your final score is tallied by adding together the sum of your individual number finding scores.
How to play :
At the beginning of each round, you will be presented with a list of numbers that you need to find on a board consisting of 16 tiles (4×4) each containing a number. Start searching the board for the numbers. A number can be the sums of any connected sequence numbers, in any direction. Try seeking for longer paths to find the numbers to get a higher score. The sum you are creating is displayed on the top left of the board for ease of use.
To add a number to your number findings, touch the first tile and drag your finger across to any sequence tile. Number sums can be made in a line, diagonally, or a mixture of both and you can’t jump numbers. Once you find a number lift your finger. As you pass over the tile the tiles will be highlighted, and you will see the Sum you are creating on the left top of the board. If tiles add up to number in the goal, the number you found will be highlighted and the relevant score calculated from the path you took to find the number. The score will then be added to your score.
The longer the path (the more numbers you used to find a number) the higher the score you receive. For example, finding the number 8 on the board by finding a single tile with the number 8 on it will give you fewer points than finding the number 8 by finding 3 tiles 2+2+4. You may not use a single tile more than once in a Number.
Keep finding numbers as fast as you can with the longest path until the clock runs out.

Suggestions :
- I would suggest adding a guide for the first timers. It took me a long time to figure out exactly how the game worked.
- If possible, make it a Xbox Live Game and add achievements.
My Idea of playing the game :
Even though one cannot define a real hard, and fast rule but in my experience when you are done with one number, the numbers selected to complete that is highlighted with green. So lets say if you added 3 numbers 13, 12 & 1 to complete 26 and the next number is 38, try to look around if you can just add 2 or more numbers to add 12 right from here. This way you will spend less time doing calculations from Zero. This idea worked at least 50% of the time for me unless its really tough combination.
