Official Vimeo App for Windows Phone is here
Looks like YouTube has lost Vimeo here because now there is an official app available for Windows Phone which has its own player and allows you to use your Vimeo account which means it’s a complete solution not just a wrapper.

- Perfect Sharing which uses WP Social Sharing, Email and SMS.
- Support to add videos to your groups, channels and albums.
- Stats for all your videos.
My Experience with Vimeo App :
Welcome Screen :
Super Fluid and beautiful interface and makes use of Metro Style i.e. Panorama. After you login using your Vimeo Account, You get to see the featured video and then all youraccount options i.e. Search, Uploads, My Videos, Likes, watch Later and Collections.
Watching a Video :
This has two sections :
- One which displays the video preview, Details of the video and publisher and Shaing options on Wp interface to Like, Add, Watch later and Share.
- Second section is comment which is very interactive. Apart from smooth scrolling, you can long press any comment to reply back or just add your comment.
The Video itself has an extra layer floating on top to like and watch later which most of the users will love it. This is even displayed when you are watching the video.
Suggestions :
- The app uses just the right size of text which makes it readable but I am sure many will look for option to increase the size.
- There is no support for Background Video Play, though it does not make sense but for users to love to listen to music would like it.
Sadly after Metrotube App was taken off but compensated by YouTube pro App but luckily now we also have an Official App for Vimeo. Oh Yeah I know its a parody but this is a huge boon for Windows Phone users. Thanks Pradeep
