Offline Access Confirmed Coming to OneDrive App for Windows Phone

OneDrive is probably the most popular cloud service that’s used in Windows Phone, mostly because it has few features which has native integration like photo backup, office integration and SMS backup.  Now the most important thing that is missing with the app is the offline access, which means overtime you want to access your file, it fetches stuff online.

One of the consumers asked in the UserVoice forum of Windows Phone/ One Drive

I keep a lot of documents on OneDrive and on Windows i can select what to sync and to keep available offline. I would like to be able to do the same on Windows Phone so the documents/folders i care about would be available offline. Simple thing, but i dont see it available right now. Seems to be core part of the functionality on Windows app?

Thanks for the suggestion. We know offline access is important, and we intend to bring this feature to Windows Phone. We don’t have a specific timeline yet.

This is a great news, though expected, and a confirmation that this feature is being worked on. Windows 10 is expected to have announcement in January and we should hear about it soon.  We expect to have full option to sync folders or individual files on demand which will make access to pictures, document a lot faster and hit less on the data.

Thanks Kulkarni for the tip
