Ola and Microsoft Partner to Build the Connected Vehicle Platform of the Future

At the ConclaveNext 2017 event, Satya Nadella announced that Microsoft and Ola are partnering together to the build the connected vehicle platform of the future in India. Just to be clear, its now Smart vehicle Microsoft is interested in, but its the platform. Any OEM will be able to use the services to make use of the offered features.

OLA is first to embrace it, and its Ola Play will be powered by Microsoft Azure now. Ola Play will use the Microsoft AI and IoT Services to enhance bot the drivers, and the consumer experience for better productivity.  Its a win-win situation for both the companies. Microsoft will offer its products which consumers can try while on the ride. Here is the list:

  • Ola to use Microsoft cloud, AI and productivity tools to transform passenger experience and predictive maintenance of vehicles
  • Offering to be taken to car manufacturers globally by both companies for integration with vehicle systems
  • Ola Play customers will be able to use productivity tools such as Office 365 and Skype for Business.
  • They can also use the voice-assisted controls built using Microsoft Cognitive Services and Bot framework, in-car during their rides.
  • Features like vehicle diagnostics, improved in-car productivity, advanced navigation, predictive maintenance of vehicles and others will also be offered.
