OneDrive gets Version History to Restore older Versions of all your Files

One of most impressive feature and the reason I have always used Dropbox is the revision history. This feature is now coming to one OneDrive and is one of the most requested features for all types of file for OneDrive personal account. In case you accidentally delete or edit files, you can restore it. This works with files includes  PDFs, CAD files or even your photos and videos. The older version can be restored within 30 days. Microsoft has started rolling out the expanded version history support and will be available to everyone this summer.

How to use the version history in OneDrive

  • Navigate to OneDrive.com, right-click the file you want to restore or view a previous version and then select Version history.
  • This will reveal the date of the previous revisions, who it was modified by and the size of the previous revision.
  • select your desired revision and either click Open File to view or download it or click Restore to replace the current version with the revision you selected.

That said, here is what is missing for few. There is no way to restore the whole directory which could be useful when you have tons of files or comes in handy when you are attacked by ransomware and accidental modification.  Restore files one by one or even checking on it will be a hell of a job for anybody.
