OneDrive now allows Upload and Sharing of multiple pictures from WP8.1

If you are running Windows Phone 8.1 preview, here is a big news for you, OneDrive app has finally opened up itself to connect with the other world and the pictures you have on your phone. I have checked this on Windows Phone 8 and these features are not there, yet.

Upload Multiple Pictures & Videos:

Those craving for on-demand upload of videos and pictures instead of using the inbuilt Auto Upload of Windows Phone backup system, the developers have heard your request. You can now upload multiple pictures and videos (yes, this is a surprise) from within OneDrive app to anywhere on your cloud space. When uploading, make sure to choose to skip resizing to keep up with the quality.

Share to OneDrive

Another way to share the photos would be from Photo gallery but you don’t have option to select multiple videos there. Prior to this update, you could upload images but only a single instance and without a control where it get stored. Now you have it.

Open Images from OneDrive into Other Apps:

You can just pickup any image from OneDrive, hit the menu bar and select open with. This option lets you open in any other app installed on your phone. It’s kind of buggy though because you first need to do open with and then again hit the edit button.

Apps which can share, now can talk to OneDrive:

Have an office document you want to upload to OneDrive ? Select a document from office app, hit share and choose OneDrive. This is incredible because now virtually any app will be able to talk to OneDrive.

It’s an incredible update for OneDrive and everybody who lives on OneDrive. This also proves that we will see more of these “hooks” in all the other apps from Microsoft making it possible.
