Popular iOS Password Manager–oneSafe–comes to Windows Phone
While we do have loads of password manager apps on Windows Phone, nothing beats a popular app making its way to other platforms. Why? When users switch from other platforms they look for the same apps here as well. That said, oneSafe is now available in the store at a price of 1.99 USD.

After having a small conversation with Donald Sequeira, Marketing Communications Manager, Lunabee Pte Ltd which is the company behind the app, I got to know that the app now is in its first stage and more functionalities will be included as the OS provides more flexibility and development goes ahead. That’s one reason the app costs only 1.99 USD while on iOS it’s 5.99 USD. They took the same approach when developing for Android as well.
Below is a quick video of the app:
Design & UI: The first thing that I liked about the app is the user interface. It’s well designed and using is easy. The best part is their representation of categories with right images and number of fields which you can use with each account. This covers need for most of the users.

Usability: It’s fairly simple to use unless too many fields bother you. You can create categories, new accounts and store details like Username, Password, URL, etc. All these depend on what type of account you have selected. You can pin them to start screen, share over Email, copy password, copy user name and so on. The only you cannot do it right now is auto login from there because of the OS restriction.

Security: As soon as you launch the app for the first time, it will ask you to set up a password before anything else. You can use pattern, a long password or PIN. Once done, all the accounts which you store in the phone are locked down by AES-256 algorithm. The timeout or idle condition makes sure to lock down the app on its own or you can use the simple lock icon to hide details from peeking eyes. That said, even when you import and export your data, the app locks it with a pass phrase only you would know about.

Password Generator: There is an inbuilt password generator available. You can use that to create new password and save it right away. It has option to use alphabets, numbers, case and so on.
Overdrive Backup: It is possible to export all the account to your Overdrive account. This will be handy if you want to sync between devices or when you reinstall the app.
Suggestion: If I have to suggest one thing, I would suggest devs to decrease the amount of fields by allowing users to configure some of the fields which they don’t use often. They can be added on demand later.

There are few features that are not yet available in the app but in iOS:
- Syncing functionality
- Decoy Safe
- Username/password auto-fill
- Self-desctruct option
- Intruder alert snapshot
- Capability to store files, images and videos.
Owing to the restrictions we have in the OS, these features will be rolled out with time. That explains the pricing. However, none of the existing users would have to pay for it. So expect the price to go up gradually as the features roll out. So if you are an avid user of the app, go buy now.
