Patent2PDF: Patent Lovers Grab This on Windows Phone
If you are a kind of person who looks around for patents and love to read them on your Windows Phone, Patent2PDF have an app just for that. Most of us email a copy of the PDF from your PC to the Phone and then read it when required but using this app, you can download the PDF file for a patent on your phone.
How Patent2PDF App Works?
The app does what it says and is very similar to its web version. You need to type in the Patent number and hit search. It then finds that particular patent and gives you two option. One that links to PDF Download and other is the text version. Both of them points to Patent2PDF.com. Internally, it works by converting the image documents on the USPTO database into a single PDF file.

When you tap on download PDF, it is launched the in browser and then you can open it with your favourite PDF reader. The file is saved into that particular app, so next time you want to read it again, open that app.
Limitations:
The app is limited in two ways. One, it can only search for US patents as its web version and second there is no option to email or share it by any other method. The later restriction comes from Windows Phone 8.
How the App can improve?
- Keeps a record of recent searches.
- Let me bookmark the PDF for later download or at least let me note the patent no somewhere in the app.
Download Patent2PDF:
Even though the app says there has been some update made in its recent version, it seems to be not working for me on Lumia 920. Even then, it’s a pretty handy app for Patent Lovers. The app is free to download.
