PhotoPlay App Updates to bring Comment Replies, Notifcation & Live Tile Support
There was a time when there were no Instagram clients, not even third-party apps like Instance and itsdagram. Microsoft had rolled out their own service, PhotoPlay, where one can share photos with almost the same features they would have seen when using Instagram. Not only this, but Microsoft has apps ready for all three platforms, including their own Windows Phone.

That was like 3 months back, and though we have no idea if the service actually picked up. Today, I see a major update rolled out for the Windows Phone version of the App, which brings in three major upgrades:
- Reply to Comments: You now have the option to reply to comments to your friends who express their opinion about the pictures you posted.
- Push Notifications for Comments, Likes, Followers, etc.
- Live Tile Support: Now, if you plan to set up a big wide tile of the app, you will see animated tiles from your feed photos which could be from your collection or from friends you follow.
That said, for those who are not aware of this application, it has many features that make picture posting fun and beautiful. You can add effects, crop, and add privacy settings for the images you post. There is a twitter-like retweet that allows you to repost photos from your friends. There are 8 quality filters, sharing to Facebook, Twitter and find new friends by looking into your account. You can like and comment.
What I really liked about this app was granular control over each picture. You can choose to keep comments, privacy, tags, sharing, etc. You can even add location details.
