PVR Cinemas App for Windows Phone makes a silent entry

Finally for the movie buffs who loved to watch movies in PVR, have an app for Windows Phone 8 and Windows Phone 7.5. The app made it silent entry without getting a mention anywhere on 14-1-2013.

The App is done pretty ok if now awesome. It allows you to use your PVR account right on the phone and then set your location and profile details. I guess that for local app usage.

So you can very well browse movies according go set location. The best part of the app is that links to the trailers of the movies is within the app which will make sure that engagement with the app stays pretty long.  They launch in Mobile YouTube.

Apart from these below are few more features :

  • Book Tickets, You can choose seats of your choice and pay using your CC ( 3d Secure CC Payments / uses HTTPS ). You can also order food  when doing this.
  • You can also choose to pay at the counter.
  • Check out a movie synopsis, watch high-quality trailers & view movie posters
  • You can add movies and Genres to favorites.
  • Toast notification for New Releases and offers.
  • More payment options e.g. Kotak m coupon & gift cards.
  • Add booking to Calendar for alerts.

Though it says you can keep a track of your booking history but it hasn’t worked for me. It wasn’t able to pull my previous history from online account.

Also I found the app to be a pretty slow so not sure if you are on a slow network will the payment pass through or time out.  So either you better be on 3G or WIFI.
