Rare Replay Review : Game Worth a Collection to go Down Old Memory Lane
If you been with video games from over a decade or even longer, and now using a console, looking back at all those 8 bit games, games played in arcade with pointy pixels and so on, tells us one thing….you have come a long way from there with lot of memories attached. While I have grown playing games mostly on PC, and sometimes with friends on cartridges based games, the feeling go playing them again on the Xbox One console just cannot be explained.
Rare launched “Replay” a set of 30 games which includes the best of games from past three decades with games like Jetpack to Perfect Dark to Banjo-Kazooie to Forgettable Missteps and so on. And I really doubt that we will see such a collection again, specially for the consoles. That said, these games have also been bumped up for their looks, includes XBLA version and its better than what you saw on your TV, if you ever played.

So will one enjoy playing? worth buying?
This is a very tricky question. If you pickup games from current generation, they won’t play it for long because they never saw that kind of graphics, nor they will ever in future. There is too much of restrictions and stuff you really cannot do. However, if you are an old school, and want to show your kids and revisit those games once again, it’s totally worth it.
All these games boot up in the Xbox 360 emulator, thanks to the Xbox One backward compatibility. So there are lags, and might need your patience. Once I had it installed, it will also throw up lot of heavy downloads so just don’t go and install all of them right away. What I will suggest is to check the list of games here, and do some research on which one you want to play, and then install it one by one.
So is it worth buying? It is yes, but only if you have attachment to the old school gmaes and if you want to to add it to collection show your kids or others on how the gaming evolved.
