Recent Xbox One Update for Insiders adds Scheduled Themes, Guide improvements and more

Xbox One Insiders are on roll with updates rolled out one after the other. While one of the previous updates is going to bring the new way of tracking achievements in a much better way, and now an update is rolling out Scheduled Themes, Guide improvements and more.

Rolled out for Alpha build with no 1802, it now allows you to change console’s color themes based on your timing, and can shift between dark and light theme. So if you are using it during the day, you may choose a white theme, and when you go dark during gaming at night, select a dark theme.

Apart from this scheduled theme, you also get a new “Game Pass Discovery” tile which is linked to Xbox Guide menu. It’s more like offering you whats new, in a random manner, followed by more offering.

While the update was scheduled to roll out from 2 PM PT / 5 PM ET on January 14, it has been hit by a bug already, due to some bad services in one data center, and has been taken down. You might have to wait for a little. You will have to go to “All Settings > System > Console Info & Updates” and check for an update.

Here is the changelog:

Scheduled Themes
You asked—we listened! We’re excited to announce that we’ve added the ability to put your themes on a schedule. In addition to choosing either the light or dark theme, you can now schedule a time to automatically switch between them. Simply follow these steps:

1. Navigate to Settings > Personalization > Theme & motion.
2. Select Scheduled from the “System theme” drop-down.
3. Select the times at which you want the light theme to start and end.

Guide Enhancements
A new icon will appear in the Guide.  The Guide Game Pass Discovery Tile (the “Surprise me with a random Game Pass Game tile”), now shows in Guide.
