Record Xbox One Game Play from Smartglass App; Just like DVR Recordings
Microsoft is improving its companion app for Xbox One, Smart Glass, more often and in this recent update the app gains capability to record game plays, TV Streaming and enhanced Social Activity.
Complete Change Log:
- Share and post activity feed items
- Post status updates to your activity feed
- See your activity feed on your profile
- Display messages in a new conversations view
- Record game clips
- In-app display of release and feature notes
- Expanding to new markets
- TV and OneGuide available in new markets
That said, Xbox One Social media features will be much easily usable as you don’t need a controller to get all that done. Posting status updates and game play and personalized social activity feed will encourage users to actually use those features.
Next update will also roll out ability to record game clicks directly from Now Playing bar which is seriously cool, almost like DVR record button.
Apart from this, a lot of update was announced for Xbox One as well on Major Nelson Blog. One of them was about a new media player app which will not only support more formats than Xbox 360 but also let you play media files from an attached USB device.. The second important was an option to boot to TV instead of booting first to Xbox One and then get to TV. Lastly, the party app has been improved with Party Leader settings which allows one to manage invitees and so on.
