Reinstaller for Windows Phone gets Major Update, Supports Category, Filter trial Apps & Works under lock screen
Reinstaller for Windows Phone, is an app, which lets you reinstall apps which you have already purchased from Windows Phone Marketplace. This is particularly useful when you switch to a new phone or did a reset of existing phone, as this app helps you to get back all your apps with just one touch instead of you finding the apps, hit on the re-install button and then repeat the whole process again and again.
For users who do not know, We did a detailed review of the app right here , and in short it connects with your Microsoft Account and gather the list of apps which you have purchased till date.
This app got major update today, and this is as following :
- The apps are now divided into two sections, Apps and Games. Inside that, you have sub categories. This means if you want to select apps based on a category this can be done now easily.
- The app can exclude listing trail apps if you wish. Since there are, many users who have tried out a paid app but did not like it, they will want to install only purchased apps. This can be done using this tool.
- The installation of the apps works even when your phone is locked. So you don’t have to keep an eye on your phone all the time to finish the installation purpose.
Apart from this the app also has a new look and feel, specially the first screen is in the form of tile now. The option to Run Under Lock Screen and Prevent Screen Timeout is right there on the first screen itself.

Suggestions :
Even though, it is possible to sort it by category, but there is no way to check / uncheck apps only from a particular category which IMO is much required else just switching to a category might not be that helpful as many users would love to do a bulk check uncheck on this.
Secondly if the app can have a way to display only the trail apps or just have a mark or indicator of those apps in a different colour, it will be useful for end users to clearly visualize it. Right now if I have a big list, its impossible to find the list of trial apps I had.
