Microsoft Rolls out Remote Desktop App (Preview) for Windows 10 Mobile & Continuum
The wait is over for those who had been waiting for Remote Desktop App on their Windows 10 Mobile devices. Microsoft has rolled out a preview that supports Continuum for Phone and will work for Lumia 950 XL & Lumia 950. Since the app is in preview, Microsoft is looking forward to feedback and use cases, which will help shape the app’s future and its features.
Features:
- Option to connect to a remote PC (optionally through a Remote Desktop Gateway), access Remote Resources (see below), manage a list of credentials and Gateways, and change global settings from your phone, PC, or tablet.
- Works both on portrait or landscape modes.
- You can attach a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse to your mobile device or a USB keyboard and mouse to the dock before connecting to a remote PC and using any apps (including Win32) that you have available in the remote session.
- Ability to connect to Remote Resources (aka RemoteApp and Desktop Connections) that the administrator has published.
- Switching between RemoteApp programs.
- Send additional key combinations to the remote PC. These include pressing the Windows key, combos with Windows + <Key> (Example: Windows + X), Alt+Tab, and Alt+F4.
