Report: First Windows 10 Mobile Preview Coming in February

Microsoft is all set to reveal its biggest announcement when it comes to Desktop, Phone and Console–Windows 10–a unified platform which will give a true sense about its One platform vision. While we should be able to get the demo of the upcoming OS, Microsoft may not release the developer preview via their phone insider app right away.

Windows 10

ZDNet’s Mary Jo Foley shares in his post:

But tomorrow will not be the day Microsoft releases the first preview of the mobile version of its Windows 10 operating system, according sources close to Microsoft. Instead, the first public release of the Windows 10 mobile SKU — which sources have said will work on both Windows Phones and smaller Intel- and ARM-based tablets — won’t happen until some time in February 2015.

So if you were excited about getting your hands on any sooner, you might have to wait for around a month or more. However, what we should be really excited about is how the unified or the “OneCore” version of platform works. How will the platforms talk to each other ? How data will be shared ? Will we have One Store for all the platform ? There are many things we should be looking for.

A couple of things I am personally interested in are :

  • Coratana Integration.
  • Windows Store.
  • New Features in Windows 10 for Phone.
  • Browser improvements in Windows 10 for Desktop.
  • Office on Phone and Desktop.
