Late in the Windows 10 Mixed Reality Part, Samsung has launched a premium Windows Mixed Reality Headset — Odyssey, and like its name it’s really premium for $499. At IFA, companies like HP, Dell, Acer, Asus, and Lenovo launched their headsets as well which is priced between $299 and $399. This was unveiled at Mixed Reality event at San Francisco by Alex Kipman, the guy behind Holo Lens.
Main features of Samsung HMD:
- Houses a dual AMOLED eye displays.
- FoV or Field of View is 110 degree.
There is a reason why Samsung Odyssey has a premium tag. Compared to other MR headsets, it has 20 degrees more FoV. Others have 95-degree. This itself will deliver a better experience. Secondly, AMOLED display delivers deeper black just like we have seen previously on Android & Lumia Phones. Samsung is known for its AMOLED display, and it will deliver vivid colors and the highest resolution in the industry, built-in spatial AKG headphones, inside-out tracking, built-in microphone, and quick, responsive motion controllers.
