Send a Direct Message from Windows Phone without any Twitter App

Windows Phone has tight integration with Twitter and Facebook. Because of this you can easily post a Tweet or update your Facebook status from Windows Phone without using any apps for these. You can also get notifications from these networks. But at the same time this does not act as a full fledged Twitter app. Apart from this, you can also send a direct message to any user from your Windows Phone without any Twitter apps. Of course the Direct message policies apply for this as well.

To send a DM, open the Me tile on your start menu and click post an update.

In the update, use D and the username to send the DM to the user. This tip works well with Windows Phone 8 and 7.5. Below is a video demo :
