Sideloads : Importing Game saves into Windows Phone 8 from Windows Phone 7.5
Many Windows Phone games save game states and parameters in a configuration files which can include your game score, levels etc. djtonka@XDA has utilized this concept to migrate game states from Windows Phone 7.5 device to Windows Phone 8 device but its only for games which you have sideloaded i.e. It will work on windows phone which are unlocked and games installed using the XAP deployer tool, not from Windows Phone Store. So if, you came here looking for apps from store, this will not work for you.
How to transfer game states :
Requirements :
- You will need a Windows 8 PC 64 Bit version with SDK 8.0 Installed.
- Windows Phone Power Tools. Download from here
- Zune for WP 7.5 devices
- Both the phones need to be unlocked.

Copy Game from Windows Phone 7.5 device :
- Connect Windows Phone 7.5 device with Zune and Sync.
- Then launch the WPPT tool and connect with the device.
- Once connected, you will see a couple of option but switch to Isolated Storage. Here, you will have a list of games listed.
- Select the game you want to migrate, click on Get and save it on your computer.
Moving Game to Windows Phone 8 Device :
- Make sure to have the game already installed on your phone.
- Connect with USB and make sure you have the Windows Phone 8 App installed.
- Next use the WPPT App, Connect and switch to Isolated Storage.
- Now use select PUT File option to select the game you copied from 7.5 and move to Windows Phone 8.
- Make sure to select __ApplicationSettings folder from the game you copied on your computer.

Said that, I seriously wish Game Stats backup was built in Windows Phone 8 Backup System. Either the developers have to implement something or there is no option at all.
