Skype Qik : New Instant Video Messaging App for Windows Phone, Android and iOS
If you use Skype often and feel turning on video calls all the time is not what you want, Skype has just rolled in a brilliant app for all the platforms including Windows Phone.
Meet Skype Quik, a video messaging app from Microsoft which lets you send short video messages to your friends. You can send a quick joke, precious moments of your kids, or share food you are having right now in group. It runs along with Skype.
Features:
- Create groups in a flash: grab a bunch of friends from your phone’s address book and start a private chat.
- Erase your message and it disappears from the conversation.
- Keep it fresh—messages are automatically erased from Qik after two weeks.
- Start a conversation any time—no login, usernames, or passwords needed.
Thats a fair amount of choice when it comes to privacy. There is also an option to block a number If you don’t want to receive messages from someone. This option is available in Android and Windows Phone. iPhone users will have it couple of months.
Now if you don’t want to record a video of your own, you can use another option called as Qik Flik which is a 5 second video and is created as GIF. These are stored on your phone and can be reused. This feature will be rolled out for Windows Phone later. Here is a quick video
