Boom!!! Sony says Publishers Can Control Game Sharing on PS4
This is a big time surprise which Sony never talked about during their PS4 announcement while Microsoft Xbox Team was clear from the first day of announcement — Third Party Publishers can control game sharing or the DRM stuff for their games.

Microsoft been bashed heavily for their licensing issue (and is still being) all over the Internet and Sony just kept their silence. However Polygon reveals Sony America CEO Jack Tretton just said on GameTrailers that :
“Well, I mean, we create the platform, we’ve certainly stated that our first-party games are not going to be doing that, but we welcome publishers and their business models to our platform,” Tretton said. “There’s gonna be free-to-play, there’s gonna be every potential business model on there, and again, that’s up to their relationship with the consumer, what do they think is going to put them in the best fit. We’re not going to dictate that, we’re gonna give them a platform to publish on.
“The DRM decision is going to have to be answered by the third parties, it’s not something we’re going to control, or dictate, or mandate, or implement,” Tretton added.
This clearly means that it’s the game publishers who are looking forward to bite off part of the money which gamers try to save to pay for highly expensive games or by sharing games within their family members. Worst part of all this is Sony is yet to come with more details on the DRM policies that will be implemented on their upcoming console.
The only thing clear is that First party games which directly comes under Sony will have no DRM issues apart from that they have no control over it.
If you are a PS4 Fan, we can understand this almost feels like cheating. Sony kept their mouth zipped on this in yesterday’s media briefing to get praised by the media and the content creators. Also this is the primary reason why PS4 was selling number one in global market compared to Xbox One for pre-orders.
If this all really comes out to be true, Xbox One will stand clear winner because they not only have more games exclusive to their console but they been honest about it from day one.
