SoundHound updated for WP8, Brings in Voice Command Integration

Soundhound is one of those popular apps on Windows Phone which made it mark early  and now they have upgraded themselves to Windows Phone 8 to include the awesome Voice Command Integration which we demoed in our Note+ Review.

Those who are new to the app should know that this app can help you find songs by just listening to your humming. It’s a Music recognition engine which can take you to the source of original song and let you learn more about it, find more about it.

In its recent update, the app brings in the following features :

Voice command integration: You can long press the Windows button on your phone and speak “Sound Hound Launch” and the app will just pop up. You may also use options like Quick Search, Open Text Search and hottest Chart.

The quick search tag will launch the app in listening mode which means this is the quickest way to start recognizing a music played around you.

Integration with music app and player controls for song previews :  You can launch the app using the voice command while music runs in the background. This is useful if you want to learn more about the song, artist etc.

Fast app resume and switching : Windows Phone 8 now doesn’t re-launches the app even if you launch it using the pinned tile. Since this was missing in Windows Phone 7.5, the app has updated itself to support WP8 device so you can get back where you left.

Apart from these it supports Multiple Screen Size for different Windows Phone 8 devices, Multiple Tile Size Support and improved search performance.
