T9 Dialling Coming to Windows Phone in Windows 10
When it comes to T9 dealing or finding a contact by typing numbers instead of name, I cannot even count the number of people have asked me on this. There are many people, including my dad, who remember phone numbers by numbers by only miss by a two or three digit to figure it out, and this is where this dealing needs to be in place.
Microsoft never had it on Windows Phone, but looks like the feature is going to make its way back home with Windows 10 for Phones. Here is quick demo by ItHome who also reports that the OS will have a “Yelllow Pages” function which will allow users to look up any public number.
As of now there is an app which does that on Windows Phone called as Truedialer. You can type a known or unknown number and it can show your name either from your contact or from its public directory. Microsoft may implement similar function by integrating with third parties to get a seamless integration in Windows 10 for Phones.
