Track Twitter Followers on Windows Phone

We guys on twitter are always addicted knowing how many are following us and who is leaving us. It’s not just because we love count but some of us are very serious about who and why they leave us. There are even services which can tell after which tweet they un-followed you.

So why are we talking about this here? During the Nokia UK event, I met a very enthusiastic Windows Phone developer, Luca Deriu(@lderiu86), who introduced me to his app which does similar job on Windows Phone. He named it as Follorep and on request he gave me access to its full version to test it out and let me know what I feel about it.

After using it for almost two weeks, I would say if you are twitter savvy, Follorep is an excellent app which can help you get some important stats and some task which would be normally time taking.

Features of Follorep:

Track the number of followers you gain and lose. What happens when somebody follows you back? The app can also tell you that too.
A graph which tells you how well you are doing to attract followers. This is very useful if your follower count increases very fast or drops quickly.
If you always follow back guys who followed you, Fast Follow feature in the app lets you follow twitter profiles in bulk.

Same is true for users who unfollow you — Fast Unfollow.
Shows you details about new followers and users who left you — right within the app. This way you don’t have to use your PC or browser on the phone to find details about it.
You can welcome new followers and say bye to those who left you.

That said, to get all these details, you will have to allow the app to read your profile details and let it publish items and do things like following, unfollowing, and so on. So when you install it for the first time, login through your twitter account and read our stats.

Suggestions:

Multiple account support. ( Could be an in-app purchase)
Let options to view the stats of last week, last day.
Live tile to display the stats automatically.
Toast notification when big change happens.

There are two versions of follorep. The paid version (comes with a trial) costs you 2.99USD.

Free version has only two features — “Analysis” and “Fast Follow”. Analysis is available by default with follow/unfollow “in a tap”. “Fast Follow” needs a Share to unlock. The free version is supported by ads.

Paid version has every feature unlocked except for “User detail” that shall be available after only one share
