Transfer My Data Now Allows to Transfer DRM Free Music from Symbian / S40 Mobiles to Windows Phone

Transfer My Data app for Nokia Lumia Windows Phone been there for years and been getting updates many a times improving its compatibility with cross platform devices. Today I saw another major improvement which is still kind of shady but here is one which will be useful for many who are switching from S40 devices to Windows Phone–It now allows to your transfer DRM free music to Windows Phone.

In the recent update its stated as below:

  • Expanded compatibility for transfer of text messages
  • Transfer DRM-free music from certain Symbian and S40 phones
  • and Bug fixes.

Transfer My Data Symbian Music Transfer

The first update definitely points its compatibility with more cross devices which could be Android. Till date only contacts were being transferred. While the second update is major which allows to get music files to windows phone from Symbian and S40 devices. When I connected with my Nokia 808 which is running Symbian, it can figure out number of music files on your phone and can transfer to Windows Phone. I also tested it with Nokia 108 and 107 and it worked perfectly.

Last update, moving contacts from SD card was supported which just worked fine when the contact files was in SD card which came in handy for devices which could not transfer contacts to Windows Phone over Bluetooth.

Just in case if any of the WPXBOX readers can test the Text message part with couple of devices around and see if there is anything new, we will add that to the post right away.
