Unified Messaging Skype App For Windows 10 Mobile is Here (Beta)
This has kept all Windows Phone users awaited big time, and it is finally happening. Skype App for Windows 10 Mobile, currently in beta, will integrate with your Phone and Messaging apps to deliver a unified messaging and calling feature. For those who use Dual SIM, this feature works with that as well.
Skype Messaging:
After you download and install the app, you can choose to let the new app take over the default messaging for the unified experience. Done that all the conversation of Skype and Text messages will be visible in one app. When sending a text, you can choose to use a mobile operator for standard text or use Skype. However, there is no way to switch between them as we had in earlier Windows Phone versions.
The new messaging app also has two dedicated buttons to make a voice call or video call. If the same number is used with Skype, it will instantly make a video call using Skype for that number.
Skype Video + Dialer Integration:
During the installation, you will notice that a second app, Skype Video Preview, is also downloaded. This will let you make instant video calls to contacts who are on Skype with the option to chat to exchange information that needs to be passed on. When you launch it, it opens the front camera instantly, and then you can select a contact to make a call.

I will suggest you give it a try if you are running Windows 10 Mobile. Those who are mapping it with Apple’s iMessage and FaceTime, You are right. Microsoft wanted to do this with Skype when it was acquired, but it took a really long time for it to happen. Blame it to Universal App Platform if nothing else. :)
Note: The app is beta. It is well done from an experience point of view. Few things like colors, emoticons might not be of your taste, and hence the Beta Tag. Try it.
** The dialer app is yet not completely taken over by the Skype Video Preview app. Rather features of Skype Video calls are hooked in here. We expect to see more hook up like this.
Thanks, everybody, for the tip!
