Universal VLC App available for Xbox One

When you have the same Windows running across the devices, the possibility of having apps on the platform becomes much easier. This has happened with Windows 10, which is now powering PC, Mobile, HUB, Holo Lens, and Xbox One.

VLC on Xbox One supports most video formats like on PC, except that it does not support DVD or Blu-Ray discs.

  • You can upload files directly to Xbox One by going to http://<Xbox IP ADDRESS>:8080. Since everything is sandboxed, so it’s pretty secure.
  • Supports USB drives.
  • Supports subtitles/srt files.
  • It supports NSA and other shares but does have issues, it seems.
  • Play Background music. The option is in the settings.
